BIOGRAFI PAK HAJI SOFYAN NADAR

Bapak Haji Syofyan Nadar dilahirkan pada tahun 1958 di sebuah desa di kabupaten Kerinci Jambi. Beliau adalah merupakan anak ketiga dari tujuh bersaudara. Ayahnya bernama Nadar dan Ibu berasal dari Pariaman yang bernama Nani dari Pesisir Selatan bersuku Bendang, yaitu dari desa Asam Kumbang Bayang.

Pada saat usia 13 tahun, beliau sudah sering melihat orang bermain silat, karena di tempat tinggalnya banyak sasaran atau perguruan silat dari berbagai macam aliran. Pada saat itu belajar silat dilakukan secara sembunyi-sembunyi mulai dari tengah malam hingga kadang-kadang sampai menjelang Subuh.

Bapak dari orang tua beliau dalah seoang guru silat juga yang bernama Muhamad Tanjuang  di Kapalo Koto Pauh Kamba, kakek dan bapaknya cukup disegani. Walaupun bapaknya pendiam tak banyak bicara, Pak Sofyan tahu bahwa bapaknya pun sedikit tahu tentang silat namun tak mau mengajarkan.

Nenek beliau yang bernama Kasumi juga seorang wanita yang pandai silat beserta dua orang mamaknya yang bernama Jusan dan Uncu Padek. Mereka juga guru debus di Asam Kumbang Bayang. Dari ketujuh bersaudara dalam keluarganya, hanya dia dan kakak tertuanyalah—yang bernama Syahrial—suka mempelajari silat hingga sekarang.

ALIRAN SILEK HARIMAU SINGGALANG

Pak H. Syofyan Nadar sejak sebelum menikah sudah mulai mengajarkan aliran-aliran yang dipelajarinya, dan setelah beliau menikah pada tahun 1980 dengan Elida—gadis dari kampung Balingka kaki gunung Singgalang—dan mendapat gelar keturunan Sutan Rajo Endah dan mendirikan Aliran Silek Tradisional Harimau Singgalang.

Sejak tahun 2004—dibantu anak-anaknya, Alex Syofyan, Deni Dahniel, dan Abral Wahyudi—Aliran Silek Harimau Singgalang secara resmi terdaftar di IPSI dan dikenal serta memiliki cabang resmi di luar negeri.

BIOGRAPHY OF PAK HAJI SOFYAN NADAR

Mr Haji Syofyan Nadar was born in 1958 in a village in Kerinci district, Jambi. He is the third of seven children. His father’s name is Nadar and his mother is from Pariaman, whose name is Nani, from the South Coast of the Bendang tribe, namely from the village of Asam Kumbang Bayang.

At the age of 13, he often saw people playing silat, because where he lived there were many martial arts schools or schools from various schools. At that time, learning silat was done in secret from midnight until sometimes until dawn. His parents’ father was a martial arts teacher named Muhamad Tanjuang in Kapalo Koto Pauh Kamba, his grandfather and father were quite respected.

Even though his father was quiet and didn’t talk much, Pak Sofyan knew that his father knew a little about silat but didn’t want to teach it. His grandmother, Kasumi, was also a woman who was good at martial arts, along with her two mothers, Jusan and Uncu Padek. They are also debus teachers at Asam Kumbang Bayang. Of the seven siblings in his family, only he and his eldest brother—named Syahrial—like to study silat until now.

SINGGALANG TIGER SILEK FLOW

Mr. H. Syofyan Nadar started teaching the schools he was studying before he married, and after he married Elida in 1980—a girl from Balingka village at the foot of Mount Singgalang—and received the title of descendant of Sutan Rajo Endah and founded the Singgalang Tiger Traditional Silek School.

Since 2004—assisted by his children, Alex Syofyan, Deni Dahniel, and Abral Wahyudi—the Silek Harimau Singgalang sect has been officially registered with IPSI and is known and has official branches abroad.
